‘Our women are mentally strong enough to handle any situation by our will power’, says fashion blogger Monia Umar

We recently sat down with rising fashion blogger Monia Umar for a detailed sit down interview. Excerpt of the interview is below:

1. How you got into fashion blogging?

Monia: I had a passion for fashion since the start. My mother was a designer herself, so she always inspired growing up.

2. What is your take on Pakistani society?

Monia: Pakistan society has changed a lot for the past 20 years. We adapted and inherited the modern fashion from around the world and proved ourselves that we are no less than anyone.

3. Three things you would like to change in our country?

Monia: First of all and most importantly we have to totally improve our judiciary system. Our education system also needs a complete overhaul and I think we need to allow our women to prove themselves and let them showcase their talent in front of the world keeping the values of religion and culture side by side.

4. Who are some of the best makeup artists and stylists in our country?

Monia: Nabila, Saba Ansari and Shaista Marghoob

5. What is your favorite fashion trend of the season?

Monia: Nothing in particular at the moment but I always admire a fashion trend which shows elegance, grace nd a touch of class. As they say fashion fades, but style is eternal.

6. Your message for all other women out there?

Monia: Our women are mentally strong enough to handle any situation by our willpower; they just need to focus on their priorities and education. Follow a path that not only leads them according to the modern world but also as per our society and religion.
